Editor’s Message
We are very pleased to share January’s Staff Matters with you. In this edition of your staff magazine we: feature the work of Professor John Marshall, who was awarded a Polar Medal in the King’s New Year Honours; review the 2025 Winter Graduation ceremonies in video and photos; and look at how our University is developing relations with academics in Japan following a delegation from Tohoku University towards the end of last year. In addition, we bring news of colleagues’ remarkable work and achievements in many fields, as well as appearances in the media.
Well done to the winners of our Festive Five competition in December: Dawn Dunlop, Lucy Marr, Anna Ruff, Tracey Waterhouse and Karla Williams.
