In Conversation: Deborah Gill talks to Tom Ezard about the Academic Year Project

From 2026/27, the University will be making some modest but important changes to when our academic year starts and how key dates fall across the year.
Alongside changes to the academic year, the University is working to make workloads associated with assessment for staff and students more manageable.
In this interview, Tom Ezard, Associate Dean Education, Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences asks Deborah Gill, Vice-President, Education and Student Experience, what the changes are, why they are being made, and the impact they will have on staff and students.
