Editor’s Message

We are really pleased to share with you the October edition of Staff Matters. To mark a new academic year and in response to your feedback, we are delighted to bring you the magazine in a new format and a new look. We will continue to use Staff Matters to celebrate your successes and showcase the impact of the great work taking place in every corner of our community. With each story on a single page, we’ve also made it easier for you to share our successes with your friends, family and peers.

In this edition, you can watch the video highlights of the recent Vice-Chancellor’s Awards, with winners’ surprised reactions and footage of the highly anticipated disco; we speak to FELS Dean Tamar Pincus about her work with local residents researching chronic pain; and Southampton academic Felix Pedrotti introduces an exhibition marking 100 years of Antarctic Research and the history of the Royal Research Ship Discovery.
