AI@FSS funding for innovation and civic focused AI research projects

The winners of the AI@FSS HEIF funding for the 2025/26 academic year have been announced, recognising a strong cohort of projects that demonstrate excellence in artificial intelligence and collaborative innovation.

AI@FSS is part of the wider AI@Southampton initiative, the University of Southampton’s strategic hub for AI-related work across the triple helix.

The awards were granted to applications that demonstrated the most compelling cases of civic partnership for a civic agenda. In response to the high-quality engagement from colleagues across the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS), additional funds were released beyond the initial allocations for each school ensuring that more of the proposed AI-focused work could be supported.
