Countdown to the British Science Festival
Editor’s Message
We are delighted to introduce the April edition of Staff Matters. As anticipation builds for September’s British Science Festival in Southampton, this issue takes a special look at the upcoming event. Highlights include the work on health and medical technology which will be showcased by two of our Research Fellows, as well as insights from a local youth group which is helping to shape the Festival for the first time.
We’re also looking ahead to changes planned for the Academic Year and Assessment Load Framework and Tom Ezard, Associate Dean Education in FELS has been asking Deborah Gill, Vice-President Education and Student Experience, questions about the impact these will have on staff and students.
Professor Tony Kushner, from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Parkes Institute for the study of Jewish/non-Jewish relations has been selected to receive one of the most significant honours in the field of Holocaust Studies. And if you’re thinking of nominating a colleague for a Vice-Chancellor’s Award, we’ve got some tips on how to write your nomination to make it stand out.
